"For us, the idea of having a work that has contradictions is very important—when, in affirming something, it includes itself and attacks itself. How can you put together all of these things that have nothing to do with each other? You use glue! Glue can be an idea, a word. You can use an ideological glue."
Art21's Access 100 Artists is a global campaign providing access to contemporary art and artists through hundreds of public screenings and events celebrating the 100 artists featured by Art21 in the past 10 years of the Peabody Award-winning documentary series, Art in the Twenty-First Century.
Access events are hosted at museums, libraries, universities, community-based organizations, art spaces, or even coffee shops worldwide. Whether you plan a conversation with local artists, a panel discussion, a community-based art project, or just a screening party, join Art21's Access 100 Artists to broaden and inspire a diverse exchange of ideas and perspectives.
Participants are invited to host one or more screening events throughout 2013.
