Lucia Koch is known for architectural interventions that draw attention to unique, preexisting elements of a site. For Conversion (2013) she worked with the natural flow of light in Bait Habib Shalawan, a large courtyard connected to a small house in the Sharjah Heritage Area. Above the courtyard, Koch installed pivoting panels covered with color correction filters. As the sun passed over the panels, blocks of color were cast across the courtyard and into pre-existing niches of the house.
