"For us, the idea of having a work that has contradictions is very important—when, in affirming something, it includes itself and attacks itself. How can you put together all of these things that have nothing to do with each other? You use glue! Glue can be an idea, a word. You can use an ideological glue."
"A lot of times I’d have to contact fabricators...and when I called (especially when I was twenty and I would call with my voice and my accent) no one would help me with anything. So I started using the title ‘A To Z Administrative Services,’ almost as a joke. And I made letterhead and business cards and I’d call people up and I’d ask them for information. And they would automatically assume that I was a secretary calling for a legitimate company. Through the years it’s really opened a lot of doors and it’s really helped me to function."
