"Sometimes I use found, printed paper with images that I submit to a painter friend. I tell him to delete specific items out of this ‘stage-set’ (maybe the references are too didactic; maybe they’re too clear), and he creates original paintings with a wash. So he deletes some elements, and then it becomes a complete abstraction and, now, something can be applied on top of this image."
