"I use a lot of repetition. And it becomes a filmic way of talking because as you put the same image after the other, even though it’s the exact identical image, everyone sees something changing from one image to the next."
"I always shot in slide film, I would project the slides onto the wall and just measure. With this work, I needed a digital projector. It was such a change for me to see the images really big. Suddenly they seemed much more tragic and had such real presence. They felt like real people."
