"I’m working flat; it’s not three-dimensional, even though the shapes are cut out and they have different kinds of perimeters. I don’t know how they’re going to resolve. That’s the psychological part of it, just starting something that I had no idea how to put together. Another part was using very intense color, or different kinds of color."
