"Random Sky" (2006)

"Random Sky," 2006
Collaboration with Mark Hereld and Rick Gribenas. 7680 x 1024 resolution continuous real-time digital output; single channel, 10-projection screens; weather transmitter with temperature, barometric, wind speed and direction instrumentation; and 7.1 surround sound. Installation view: Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago.
Courtesy the artist and Max Protetch, New York.

"’Random Sky’ is a sort of parasite to the building. The work’s weather station is grappling with the outside and then sending in its live data stream. Once it sends that data stream in, it’s going through the infrastructure of the building- it’s connected to a set of computers that run not only this projection system but also other devices in the building."
