"I loved being a painter at the Rhode Island School of Design, but I wasn’t good enough. So I put that away for a long, long time. It wasn’t until I started working with these secret documents that I decided that they could be paintings. I was very lucky to find Ben Snead, who also graduated from RISD, to paint the grounds for me. He’s a master painter; I’m a theoretical one."
