"It’s not like one [violent] thing happens and you say, ‘Wow! That was just so terrible,’ and it will never happen again. You know it will happen again- either where you’re caught up in a system, whether a family or war...or- if you’re in a situation as I happen to be now, not involved in a violent cycle, witnessing violent situations erupt. I’m more in a witness position now. Not a direct witness. A kind of removed witness."
