"My figures are of mixed race, neither white nor black, and they don’t have any facial features that identify them racially. A piece that comes to mind is Scramble for Africa (2003), which is based on a conference that was held in Berlin in 1884–85. The European countries came together to divide up Africa, to decide who would have which trading area."
