2013–2014 Program Information
Summer Institute Dates:
Wednesday, July 10–Wednesday, July 17, 2013
Housing Information:
NYU housing is available at a subsidized rate this year of $53/night for a shared room and $80 for a single room. The total fee for 9 nights (Wednesday, July 10–Tuesday July 16) in a double-occupancy room is $477 per person. For a single occupancy room the total cost is: $720. Payment for housing will be collected during the Institute. Applicants should indicate on their application whether they would like to stay in NYU Summer Housing and whether they prefer a single or double room.
We strongly encourage participants to stay in residential housing provided by NYU during the Summer Institute. Many of our sessions are held in or around the NYU Summer Housing dorms and participants often tell us that the informal conversations and gatherings that happen in the dorms are central to the sense of community that develops during this week.
NYU Summer Housing does not provide meals. Art21 estimates $40–65 per day for meals.
Program Fees
Accepted participants are charged a $400 registration fee to participate in the full year of the program. This fee includes participation in the Summer Institute, webinar forums and social networking applications presented throughout the year, as well as all Art21 materials. Scholarships are available based on financial need. Please contact education [AT] art21.org for more information.
Participants must also pay for travel and living costs affiliated with attending the Summer Institute in NYC. Accepted participants can request to stay in NYU Summer Housing, available at a subsidized rate. Art21 is unable to offer grants or scholarships to cover these Summer Institute expenses and we encourage applicants to look into funding opportunities provided by their communities, schools, or districts. In addition, a list of links to additional funding sources is available in the FAQs.
