"At this time in my life, I’m ready to accept or own a kind of romance and melancholy or melodrama that I wasn’t ready to reveal before. It was always there in my inner life as an artist, but I was too afraid to share it."

2016–2017 Program Information
Summer Institute Dates:
Wednesday, July 6–Monday, July 11, 2016
NYU housing is available at a subsidized rate this year of $60/night for a shared room and $88 for a single room. Payment for housing will be collected in advance of the Institute. Applicants should indicate on their application whether they would like to stay in NYU Summer Housing and whether they prefer a single or double room.
We strongly encourage participants to stay in residential housing provided by NYU during the Summer Institute. Many of our sessions are held in or around the NYU Summer Housing dorms and participants often tell us that the informal conversations and gatherings that happen in the dorms are central to the sense of community that develops during this week.
NYU Summer Housing does not provide meals. ART21 estimates $40–65 per day for meals.
